The perfect blend of history and terroir.

Welcome to the Domaine du Prieuré des Papes

Located in the northern part of the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, in the renowned area of Cabrières, the Domaine du Prieuré des Papes spans 20 hectares of exceptional vineyards, cultivated on the unique sandstone terroir.

Our wines, certified organic, reflect all the richness and authenticity of these iconic terroirs, where nature and know-how meet to create exceptional vintages.

The name of the Domaine pays homage to an emblematic building of Châteauneuf-du-Pape: the Priory, located at the foot of the Château, former residence of the popes.

A commitment to sustainable viticulture

A diversity of vintages with a unique character.

At Domaine du Prieuré des Papes, the essence of our production lies in exceptional red wines, with a predominance of Grenache, the emblematic grape variety of the appellation.

We also have the privilege of producing a Châteauneuf-du-Pape white of great finesse, made in very limited quantities on an exclusive one-hectare plot of sand, a true treasure of our terroir.

Our style is distinguished by a modern and bold approach, combining tradition and innovation.

Winemaking

Winemaking is the culmination of a year's work in the vineyards. Isabelle and Arnaud Strasser prioritize crafting fresh and elegant wines that express the very essence of their terroir. In the cellar, the various stages, from the arrival of the harvest to the fermentation tanks, are carried out under the watchful eye of the cellar master.

At the end of summer, the grape harvest takes place over about twenty days.
Each plot is harvested by hand, according to its own ripeness, several times if necessary, by harvesters responsible for sorting the bunches so that only ripe and perfectly healthy grapes are presented to the crusher.
